Michael is an accomplished and in-demand documentary + reality producer/director working in TV, film and the Internet. His debut feature, Poor White Trash (starring Jaime Pressly and Sean Young) was an underground hit that ended up making three times its budget. His follow up feature, Heckler, is a documentary featuring 140 big comedians, sports legends, actors and filmmakers being interviewed about critics. It’s currently playing on Showtime.
In TV, Michael directed and/or produced on TruTV’s Impractical Jokers, Comedy Central’s Lewis Black’s Root of all Evil, The Showbiz Show with David Spade, Extreme Makeover: Home Edition, The New Tom Green Show and Reality Hell. He also wrote for The Man Show. With his own company, he produced/directed the one-hour stand-up special, Jamie Kennedy: Unwashed, which he sold to Comedy Central to excellent ratings. He also has been Executive Producer of two seasons of the hit BET show Hell Date!
On the Internet, Michael wrote/directed the political comedy series, The McCaingels for ComedyCentral.com and “I Love Movies” with Doug Benson on Superdeluxe.
Michael has directed/edited dozens of commercials, including campaigns for Doritos, Audi, Costco, Kashi Cereal and Mozilla.
Michael is a member of the DGA and is repped by Puraj Puri and Derek Blum at Paradigm.
